Our Esther Project, a vocational training program in Myanmar provides vocational training to orphans, we currently serve over 600 children in 34 orphanages at 7 locations across Myanmar.

Our Beginning

The genesis of the Esther Project came about after our program director had taken several trips to Myanmar to provide relief and aid in Rahkine state of Myanmar. After witnessing the overwhelming number of children on the streets, and meeting with the caregivers from numerous Christian orphanages both large and small, all of which were overcrowded, with insufficient funding for basic care including food, clothing, and bedding; it became apparent that under these situations, where orphanages struggle to provide substandard housing, rudimentary food, and clothing, the first sacrifice is education, leaving these children with little food for today and no hope for a better tomorrow.

In the words of a caregiver from one orphanage “We do what we can, but we know, these children have no hope.” Looking across the room into the eyes of a young orphan named Sara, the decision was made, no child should believe that their life is without hope, we can care about these children, we can develop a training program, we can teach the skills they need to have an opportunity.

We can provide them hope.
