As The Esther Project continues to expand, we continually look for ways that we can make an even greater impact in the lives of the children in the orphanages we partner with. Many of the children have pointed out that none of the orphanages we partner with have any books for them to read. Research shows that children with books at home become better readers and so perform better in school. The Esther Project has chosen to address this by opening libraries in several of our learning centers in Yangon and Hlegu Myanmar to encourage our students to read at home by offering gently used, donated books both in English and Burmese from our "Take Reading Home" selection. Sometimes the best ideas come from the children.
